Methods for raising terrapins:

1. Container. The size of the turtle is not small, so you need to pay attention to the breeding container not being too small and setting the container in a quiet place.

2. Food. The eye-spotted water turtle is an omnivorous animal, but it is very picky. It can feed lean pork, fish, shrimp, animal offal, etc. as a meat diet, and can feed vegetables such as carrots and cucumbers as a vegetarian diet.

3. Feeding. Feeding can be done twice in the summer at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., and once a day in spring and autumn. The feed should be fresh, and large pieces of feed should be crushed to facilitate feeding, swallowing, and digestion.

4. Water temperature. Eye-spotted turtles have requirements for water temperature. The most suitable range is between 26 and 31 degrees. It is best to keep them within this water temperature range.

5. Water quality. Eye-spotted turtles are best suited to live in slightly alkaline water. If the water quality is not suitable, they will suffer from armor rot.

Precautions for raising the hatchlings:

1. Newly hatched hatchlings are very delicate. After the umbilical cord has converged, they need to be Soak and disinfect in 10% physiological saline, then put it into a slanted water tank or an open large basin with a water temperature of 25°C ~ 30°C for temporary cultivation. Change the water 2 to 3 times a day.

2. The hatchlings within 3 days of hatching rely on their own egg yolks to provide nutrition. After 3 days, they are fed mixed bait such as cooked egg yolks, wheat grains, rice and pumpkins.

3. Eyespotted water turtles are relatively timid. Do not disturb them easily when raising them. Arrange an environment with shelter holes to allow the hatchlings to adapt to the new environment as soon as possible.
