Brazilian turtles will die if they don't eat. Although turtles are very resistant to hunger, they are not able to survive without eating. Under normal circumstances, they can starve for a month, but it is hard to say how long it will last. In order to ensure its healthy growth, it is usually fed every day during its childhood so that it can grow faster. Adult turtles can be fed every two or three days to avoid overfeeding and causing them to become obese.

There are roughly four reasons why Brazilian turtles do not eat:

1. The temperature is not high enough. Turtles will only eat when the temperature is about 20°C above zero, but they will occasionally have a desire for food when the temperature is around 17°C. Do not feed it, otherwise it will cause indigestion.

2. The Brazilian turtle may have gastroenteritis. Medical treatment is required. If the Brazilian turtle has not eaten, it needs to be soaked in glucose and some vitamins to replenish energy and cooperate with medical treatment.

3. The water depth is not enough. Except tortoises, whether they are aquatic turtles or semi-aquatic turtles, turtles like to be in deep water. They do not want to be raised in dry or shallow water as many people say. This is a misunderstanding of many people. The water must be at least up to the back. , when the water is too shallow, turtles would rather starve to death than eat. The water depth is at least 10~15cm, but it also depends on the size of the turtle. Your turtle thinks it is okay, but there must be something protruding from the water surface to let it Turtles can come up to rest and breathe. Turtles breathe with their lungs in the water, so they are much happier than if they were kept dry or in shallow water. Don't worry about turtles drowning. They live in water. Common tortoises and flower turtles live in lakes and rivers. 3~4m of water is not a problem for turtles at all, not to mention the depth of our own water. In short, too shallow water may be one of the reasons why turtles do not eat.

4. Changes in the environment. The new and unfamiliar environment will cause the Brazilian turtle to eat abnormally, and it will take some time to adapt.
