Spring is warm and the flowers are blooming, which is a good time for an outing. This period is also the peak of tick damage, making it easy for ticks to take advantage of the situation. Wild ticks can cause fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome. Over the years, there have been many cases of tick bites causing death to humans and dogs getting sick from tick bites!
Bio introduction
Ticks (pí) are also called ticks and are eaten by turtles. They are commonly known as grass ticks, dog turtles, grass ticks, cattle ticks, cryptopterous insects, grass ticks, dog beans, cow turtles, and grass crawlers (in some areas of Northeast China). Centipedes are also called "grass crawlers"). In Sichuan dialect, there are names such as Bisha (pronunciation). Hibernating on grass and plants in shallow hills and hills, or lodged in the fur of livestock and other animals. When not sucking blood, the small ones are as big as mung beans, and some are as thin as rice grains; after sucking blood, they are the size of plump soybeans, and the big ones can be as big as a fingernail. Anaplasmosis caused by tick bites is an infectious disease, and people are generally susceptible to it. Medical staff or their caregivers who have close contact with critically ill patients and direct contact with patients' blood and other body fluids may also be infected if they do not pay attention to protection.
This parasite is very fond of animals with dense fur, especially cattle. It can often be found under the neck of cattle and on the inside of its legs. It often gathers in groups and is very difficult to remove. It is extremely common in rural areas of Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou and other places.
Morphological characteristics
Adult ticks have a strongly chitinized scute on the back of the body and are commonly known as hard ticks (pí) and belong to the family Ixodes. Those without scutes are commonly known as soft ticks and belong to the family Soft ticks. More than 800 species have been discovered in the world, including more than 700 species of Ixodes, about 150 species of Soft Ticks, and 1 species of Nastidae (only found in Europe). About 100 species of hard ticks and 10 species of soft ticks have been recorded in China. Ticks are temporary parasites on the body surface of many kinds of vertebrates and are the vectors and reservoirs of some zoonotic diseases.
Preventive treatment
Personal protection and handling of ticks:
Since ticks mainly inhabit grasslands and woods, it is best to spray Luofu Mountain Baicao Oil or mosquito repellent on exposed skin when going out to play, and try to avoid sitting or lying for a long time in the wild. Ticks often attach to the scalp, waist, armpits, groin, and below the ankles of the human body.
If symptoms such as fever, inflammation, ulceration, and erythema at the bite site occur, seek medical attention promptly.
