The lifespan of Indian star tortoises is generally about 30-50 years. If you want to extend the lifespan of a star tortoise, the environment and living conditions need to be suitable. The Indian star tortoise is a cold-blooded animal with very strict requirements on temperature and light conditions. The external temperature is between 26-32°C, which is most suitable for its survival. This is one of the important reasons why it is not widely distributed.

Things to note when raising Indian star tortoises:

1. When purchasing, the individual should be large. It is recommended to choose an animal that is about 8 cm in height when raising for the first time. Do not choose an animal that is too underweight as it may be an individual that has not eaten for a long time. Also choose Indian tortoises with bright eyes and strong limbs.

2. Feeding temperature. Indian star tortoises are mainly found in northern and southern India, and throughout Sri Lanka. The temperature in this area is relatively high all year round. When we are raising them, the temperature of the breeding box should not be lower than 25 degrees, and the temperature difference between morning and evening should not be too large, and should basically be kept above 28 degrees.

3. The Indian Star Turtle is not very sensitive to humidity and can tolerate it as long as it is not too humid.

4. Indian star tortoises basically feed on various wild grasses. To ensure balanced nutrition, you can try feeding some wild grasses, wild vegetables or mixed with sparse vegetables.

5. Be sure to bask in the sun, but avoid exposure to the sun. There should be a certain shade and cool place for the Indian star tortoise to adjust.
