A lot of dog training involves punishment and reward. Let’s teach you how to train a Samoyed dog to “squat”.

First, we need to observe when the dog squats: this determines when you train the Samoyed. For example, when I was training my dog, I observed that it always sat and waited for food when we were eating. So I chose to train while eating. You also need to find out when it likes to squat, and then plan the training.

Prepare reward food: Generally, trainers have special food to reward dogs. You can just use the food that Samoyed likes, such as sausages. The food should be chopped up in advance to make it easier for you to feed your dog. Don't feed too much at one time and keep your dog in a semi-hungry state. Choose a good training time: The training time is required to be about twenty minutes. If your training time is too short, the dog will not be able to learn. If the time is too long, it will cause fatigue to the dog and affect the efficiency of training.

Give the command to squat: I usually point my finger at the ground, and the dog will squat down. You also need to think of a command or action to tell your dog to squat. After choosing the password, you have to give the command to squat. At first, the dog can’t understand it and doesn’t know what to do. So we have to give the command when the dog likes to squat, and the dog will squat on its own. Give food rewards at this time.

Repeat the process of "squat - reward": you give the command to squat, and then wait for the dog to squat. If the dog squats, give the food. If the dog does not squat, continue to give the command. The reward must be timely. You cannot wait until the dog has squatted for a long time before rewarding it, otherwise it will have no effect.

Reduce rewards: After the dog learns to squat, you should often give the command to squat, and then reduce the reward. That is to say, sometimes the dog will be rewarded for squatting, sometimes no reward will be given for squatting, or You just touch its head, which is also a reward. After this process, the dog's squatting action will last longer, and the dog will squat even if you don't reward it.
