Alert, your dog needs to be dewormed immediately!

We often talk about raising dogs scientifically, which means seeking medical treatment when sick and feeding them scientifically on time. Seeking medical treatment when you are sick actually has a subtext: prevention when you are not sick.

Prevention can be divided into two types (by me): prevention when going out and prevention at home. The former means taking the dog out of the house and going to a pet hospital or epidemic prevention station to inject various vaccines; the latter means buying deworming medicine yourself and deworming the dog internally and externally at home, but this is often ignored.

The temperature has dropped sharply in winter recently, and dogs’ own resistance has been reduced, making them particularly susceptible to various external parasites.

Today I would like to recommend two Bayer internal and external deworming drugs from Germany. However, before introducing the drugs, let’s do some popular science about what kind of deworming drugs they repel and what harm they can cause to the dog’s body.

The following is pure practical information, remember to take notes~ Veterans who already have a certain understanding of parasites can skip this part and go directly to the introduction of medicines at the end.

1. Roundworm

Puppies are more likely to be infected. Lives in the intestines and absorbs digested nutrients. Roundworms are generally transmitted vertically from the mother, and it is best to eliminate roundworms in puppies when they are one month old. Generally, it is estimated whether there are roundworms in the body by observing whether there are eggs in the feces.

2. Tapeworm

It is parasitic in the intestines and absorbs nutrients. It has segments. After each piece falls off, it will grow its head forward, bite the dog's intestinal wall, and extend back to grow a long string. The segments usually gather near the dog's anus, causing itching in the anus. If you see maggot-like worms in your dog's feces, they are tapeworms.

The vectors of tapeworms are usually fleas and rats. Therefore, in addition to deworming dogs internally and externally, the number of rats in the home should also be controlled. You need to pay special attention to shoveling poop from cats at home.

3.Hookworm

Parasitic in the duodenum, also known as "duodenal worm". There is a thin hook on the head, which bites the intestinal wall and sucks blood, causing bloody stools, black stools and anemia. Oval-shaped eggs can be seen on fecal examination.

4. Pinworms

Commonly known as nematodes, they hatch in the stomach and duodenum of animals after infection. It likes to lay eggs near chrysanthemums, and can produce dozens of pinworms at a time, which can irritate the skin near the chrysanthemums and cause itching, causing the dog to have insomnia.

5.Toxoplasma gondii

This is probably the parasite that everyone has heard about the most and is the most feared. Toxoplasma gondii generally parasitizes in host cells. The final host is a cat, and the intermediate host is a variety of animals. It reproduces in the cat's body, and the oocysts are excreted with the cat's feces and pollute the environment. Dogs infected with Toxoplasma gondii will have their lymphoreticular tissue destroyed and cells destroyed, eventually leading to severe disease.

In addition to infection through the digestive tract, Toxoplasma gondii can also invade animals through the eyes, nose, respiratory tract, skin, embryos, etc. This is why there are scary legends that pregnant women cannot stay with cats and dogs. In fact, people want to be infected with Toxoplasma gondii unless they eat fresh cat feces every day.

1. Lice

The main hazards to dogs are blood lice and rodent lice. Blood lice mainly feed on blood, while rodent lice mainly feed on dog hair and dander. Blood-sucking parasites cause itching and uneasiness. Sometimes small bleeding points, small nodules, and even suppuration will appear on the dog's skin.

2. Fleas

This is a parasitic blood-sucking parasite that can cause itching all over your dog’s body. Since fleas generally do not develop on dogs, they can be prevented as long as the area around the kennel is kept ventilated and clean, and the bedding in the room is often taken out to bask in the sun.

3. Ixodes

Ixodex ticks are blood-sucking arthropods that parasitize on the surface of dogs and mechanically damage the skin, causing itching and uneasiness. Female ticks suck blood, 0.4 ml at a time. Excessive parasitism can cause anemia, and can also become an intermediate host for many infectious diseases, causing dogs to suffer from other parasitic diseases.

Not only do these parasites look ugly, they can also affect the growth and development of puppies, hinder the absorption of nutrients from dog food, and weaken their own immunity, creating conditions for the invasion of other pathogens and causing more serious diseases.

There are warning signs before dogs become infected and sick, and the earlier they are discovered, the easier it is to treat. So poop scavengers should pay more attention to the condition of dog feces. Chacha here lists some of the abnormal behaviors of furry children after being infected with parasites, so that everyone can make comparisons.

Symptoms of worms in the body:

Eating normally, but not gaining weight, or losing weight instead.

Dog babies infected with parasites through the placenta or breast milk will suffer from loss of appetite, sales and growth retardation.

Constipation or diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, and enlarged belly.

Symptoms of worms outside the body:

The dog will frequently scratch certain parts of the body or rub against the ground.

Sudden change in personality, irritability, and weight loss.

Loss of appetite, lack of energy, and abnormal hair loss.

In severe cases of dogs, erythema or scabs after scratching can be directly observed on the skin surface.

Sometimes dogs will spit out worms from their vagina or excrete worms in their feces.

Severe cases of dog babies can cause small intestinal intussusception or anal prolapse, causing complications that can lead to death.

Okay, now that we’ve finished talking about the practical stuff, it’s time to talk about the nemesis of these little bugs.

Today we would like to recommend two good products to you, namely Baichongqing (internal deworming) and Baichongshuang (external deworming) from Bayer Pharmaceuticals in Germany.

Health care drugs include those used to treat and prevent human and animal diseases. For such an awesome company to start making animal health products, it is absolutely unambiguous.

Baichongqing is a tablet that specifically targets internal parasites and can effectively treat infections such as nematodes, tapeworms, roundworms, and hookworms in dogs. This is also the first choice of deworming medicine that is necessary for pet-raising homes at home and abroad, and its price and strength go hand in hand.

During prevention or treatment, use once a month and it will remain effective for at least 1 month.

Notes

BaiChongShuang is only applicable to dogs. It contains permethrin, which although safe for dogs, is dangerous for cats. Cats have different physiology than dogs and are sometimes unable to metabolize certain substances, such as pyrethrins, the chemical class to which permethrin belongs.Category - This means the drug can cause severe illness in cats. On the packaging of Baichongshuang products, it is clearly stated in writing and illustrations in multiple places that the product must not be used on cats. If cats are exposed to permethrin, most recover with prompt veterinary care.
