The Brazilian turtle eats vegetable leaves. Turtles are omnivorous animals that eat both meat and vegetables. When raised, they generally need to be fed with meat such as fish and shrimp as the main food, and plant foods such as vegetables and fruits as supplementary food. There are many vegetables that Brazilian turtles can eat. Basically, all green vegetables can be eaten. It is best to tear them into pieces when feeding to make it easier for the turtle to eat.
What foods can’t Brazilian turtles eat:
1. Brazilian turtles are intolerant to all fat, hard dry meat, cooked meat and all kinds of crude fiber. They are not interested in food, and may even hate such food and refuse to eat it.
2. The food fed to the Brazilian turtle should not contain thorns and bones to avoid injury to the turtle. It is best to feed fresh raw meat. The cooked meat will become hard. Turtles do not like to eat hard things.
3. It is not advisable to feed too much pork, otherwise you will easily suffer from white eye disease or gastroenteritis.
