Budgerigars can be kept alone. Keeping a budgerigar alone will make you more attached to the owner and get closer to the owner. But budgerigars are social animals. If they are kept alone, they will feel very lonely. Therefore, if the owner does not have time to spend with them, they can keep two at the same time.

Notes on raising budgerigars:

1. Cage

Budgerigars are strong and like to bite, so they cannot A wooden cage is enough, but a wire cage should be used. There should also be fine wood shavings inside the cage for the parrot to play with. Budgies can be kept in pairs or in groups. The activity space of each pair of birds should be more than 0.5 cubic meters, otherwise it will not be conducive to breeding. A larger square metal cage can be used. The size of the cage is 40 cm long, 35 cm wide, and 35 cm high (dimensions are for reference only). There is a drawer-type sand tray (dung tray) at the bottom of the cage to facilitate cleaning of feces.

2. Feeding

The feed is mainly millet and barnyard grass, and some hemp seeds or perilla are also fed, but the dosage cannot exceed 10%. In order to ensure the nutrition required by the birds, green vegetables (cabbage, rapeseed) and inorganic salts (bone meal, oyster meal) must also be fed regularly. Budgies are resistant to roughage and should not be fed too much concentrated feed to avoid fat deposition and affect egg production and reproduction. Note that vegetables should be washed, disinfected (one thousandth of potassium permanganate aqueous solution can be used), drained before feeding, and the remaining vegetables should be taken out on the same day.

3. Temperature

Be careful to keep warm in winter, and the indoor temperature should not be lower than 16℃. The temperature is higher in summer, and ventilation is generally required when temperatures are above 30°C. Also be careful not to expose the budgerigar directly to strong sunlight in summer.
