Leopard spotted tortoises are suitable for keeping in shallow water, where the water level just overflows the turtle’s back. Leopard spotted tortoises prefer to live in semi-dry, thorny grasslands, but they can also be found in some steep places. Leopard tortoises are best kept in water because leopard tortoises are not very dry-tolerant and cannot adapt to life without water. Young tortoises must live near water sources. Leopard tortoises will suffer from heat stroke if they are kept dry.

How to raise leopard spotted tortoises:

1. Breeding environment. When raising leopard spotted turtles, the water level should be just enough to cover the turtle's back, and put a large stone in the water tank so that the pet turtle can climb up and bask in the water.

2. Food. Leopard-spotted tortoises like to eat fruits, prickly pear berries (cactus), succulents, and thistles. Don't feed too much watery fruit, as fruit or "soft" foods can lead to the development of flagellates and other internal problems.

3. Exercise. Leopard-spotted tortoises need a wide indoor and outdoor activity space to allow them to bask in the sun, and they need regular supplements of calcium powder and multivitamins.
