Cats require 4 shots for vaccination. If the cat is immunized for the first time, it needs 4 shots, including three shots of cat triplex and one shot of rabies vaccine. Cat triplex is vaccinated every 21 days or so. The rabies vaccine can be given together with the third shot of vaccine. If your cat receives booster vaccinations every year, it only needs one shot of feline triple vaccine and one shot of rabies vaccine.

Precautions for cat vaccination

1. Cats cannot be vaccinated until they are 60 days old. When the cat is not weaned, it will be obtained through the mother cat’s milk. For maternal antibodies, after the cat is weaned for about one and a half months, the cat must have a time to adapt. Only when the cat has a certain degree of resistance can it be vaccinated.

2. Do not vaccinate the cat immediately when you first bring it home. It takes one to two weeks to adapt to the new environment before being vaccinated. Cats can easily become stressed after a change of environment, and the owner is not sure whether the cat has any disease, so they need to observe it for a period of time.

3. Cats can only be vaccinated when they are completely healthy. Vaccines are composed of attenuated viruses. After a cat is vaccinated, the attenuated virus will stimulate the cat to produce antibodies. If the cat is vaccinated in an unhealthy state, the attenuated virus in the vaccine can easily cause the cat to become sick.
