Bathing knowledge

Dogs’ fur gets dirty easily and requires regular bathing. Generally, it is done once a week in summer and once every two weeks in winter. When it is dirty, just wipe it with a wet towel. Use warm water for bathing, not cold water. Use pet shampoo instead of human shampoo or soap. Wash well with a cleanser. Plug your ears with cotton when taking a bath to prevent water from entering your ears and causing ear infections.Tract inflammation. Put the shampoo into the water and mix well, then put the dog into the water to bathe. After taking a bath, use a dry towel to absorb the moisture on the coat, and then comb it while blow-drying it with an electric blow dryer. Do not let it dry in the sun or dry naturally, as this can easily make your dog sick. Pay attention to drying the undercoat, focusing on the neck, armpits, groin, and between the fingers of the limbs, otherwise skin diseases will easily occur.

Before understanding the necessity of bathing dogs, we first understand the structure and physiological characteristics of dog skin. Dog skin is less resistant to external stimuli than humans. Human skin has 10-15 epidermal layers and a pH of 5.5. (slightly acidic), with sweat glands, while dog skin has only 3-5 layers of epidermis, PH7.5 (neutral), short skin metabolism cycle, and no sweat glands. These determine that no matter how good human shampoo is, it is not suitable for dogs. Bathing too often and not blow-drying thoroughly can easily damage the sebaceous glands, make the coat rough and dull, and easily lead to skin diseases. Some owners love hygiene so much that they bathe their dogs multiple times a day or a week, which is obviously wrong. In addition, the hygiene of the dog's lips and face cannot be ignored and should be washed with a towel after eating. Don’t forget to clean the anus and urethra area.
