Several common misunderstandings when feeding British Springer Spaniels

The English Springer Spaniel should demonstrate strength, endurance and liveliness. It should show a good running and long-lasting conformation, so that it can continue to work under difficult hunting conditions. At his best, he is endowed with style, symmetry, balance and enthusiasm, and he combines beauty and utility, making him a true game-distinguishing hound.

New environment

1. For a young Springer Spaniel, everything in the new environment is unfamiliar, and after the fatigue of traveling and horse racing, it needs a peaceful environment most after arriving home. Therefore, other members of the family should not be too enthusiastic about the puppy immediately. If there are still relatives and friends who want to come over to get close to the puppy, it is best to ask them to postpone their visit for a few days.

2. If you want to place the puppy somewhere at home, it is best to spread its blanket there first, and put drinking water and food next to it. After the puppy has finished eating and drinking, take it outdoors to defecate, and then take it back indoors to play. When it gets tired of playing, put it back on the blanket and let it sleep.

Four misunderstandings about caring for puppies in their new home

1. Give it a bath

When a puppy enters a strange new environment, he will have a stress response due to his inability to adapt to it, and his body's immunity to the outside world will decrease. If you give him a bath at this time, he will easily get sick and even endanger his life. When the odor on it becomes acceptable, you can wipe it with a wet hand towel or dry cleaning powder, and keep it warm at the same time.

2. Take it out

If the puppy is under 3 months old or has not completed vaccinations, for the sake of its safety, it is best not to take it out. You can hold it outside to bask in the sun and breathe fresh air, but it should be done in moderation, about 15 minutes.

3. The indoor heat is too low

If the air conditioner is turned on at home and the heat is set to very low, it is easy for the puppy to catch a cold. It is best to place the dog in a room without air conditioning, or in a place where air conditioning will not blow.

4. Wrong hugging method

Do not pick up the dog by its forelimbs, as this can easily cause the forelimbs to drag, or even cause greater harm. The correct way is to hold its chest and abdomen with one hand, hold it up with the other hand, and gently pick it up.
