Methods to determine the best breeding time for female dogs:

1. Blood drop determination method. During estrus, the female dog's vagina often drips with blood. It is generally more appropriate for primiparous bitches to be bred for the first time on the 11th to 13th day; for multiparous bitches, it is more suitable to be bred for the first time on the 9th to 11th day. For every two years more age of a female dog or four more litters, the first breeding time should be advanced one day. In short, the best breeding period for most female dogs is 9-13 days after the bleeding from the female dog’s vagina.

2. Vulva determination method. If the start date of vaginal bleeding is not found, the best breeding date can also be determined based on the color change of vaginal secretions, that is, 2 to 3 days after the color of vaginal secretions changes from red to straw yellow, the breeding can be performed mating.

3. Testing love for male dogs. The blood-like secretions of some female dogs can last until the estrus period, or even for several days after the estrus period. For such dogs, the breeding date cannot be determined by observing whether there is vaginal bleeding. At this time, the male dog can be used to test love. The most suitable breeding period is 1 to 3 days after the female dog is willing to accept the male dog for mating.

4. Ultrasonic detection method. Ultrasound testing technology can immediately see the ovaries and determine the ovulation status most accurately. It is usually used for bitches with abnormal breeding cycles or fertility problems.

5. Experience judgment method. Use your fingers to gently stimulate the area around the vulva, waist, and tail root, and a very sensitive reaction will occur. The tail will turn up, twist the waist, and lie horizontally.
