How to cut the kitten's umbilical cord:

1. Tie a thin wire one to two centimeters above the kitten's umbilical cord to prevent heavy bleeding from behind. It is best to use sterilized cotton thread to tie the knot two centimeters away from the navel.

2. The second line is about two centimeters away from the first line. Tie the thread tightly and use sterilized round-headed surgical scissors to cut between the two threads, and disinfect the remaining umbilical cord with iodophor.

3. All instruments must be disinfected, and the wound from the umbilical cord to the belly must be disinfected with iodophor. Always disinfect your hands and wear gloves before cutting the umbilical cord.

4. In the later stage, care needs to be taken around the umbilical cord to avoid infection.

Cat postpartum care:

1. Cats are very weak after giving birth and are prone to bacterial infection. Do not give them a bath. You can use hot towels or pet wipes. Wipe your body.

2. Female cats will secrete a large amount of milk after giving birth. If there are few cubs, the milk will accumulate in the breasts and form milk engorgement. We need the help of our feces shovel to express milk. If the milk accumulates in the breasts for a long time , easily lead to mastitis.

3. Within a week after delivery, eat small meals frequently, and the food prepared should be easy to digest. The food just after giving birth is best to be liquid, do not feed dry cat food. If you have time, make homemade cat rice. If you don’t have time, prepare canned staple food.

4. Some cats have less milk production and are more difficult to make. You can make crucian carp soup, but be careful not to add any seasonings to help the cat mother produce milk.
