Notes on cat delivery:

1. Prepare delivery tools in advance for cutting the umbilical cord. For example, sterilized scissors, gloves, sterilized cotton thread, hot water, and iodophor sterilized cotton. During the birth process of a kitten, if half of the kitten is exposed but cannot be born, the owner should wear sterilized gloves and gently pull the kitten out with his hands. Remember to be gentle in your movements to avoid injuring the kitten.

2. If the mother cat does not lick off the kitten’s fetal sac, the owner should wipe the kitten’s fetal sac clean with a clean warm towel. If the mother cat does not bite the kitten's umbilical cord, the owner should use sterilized scissors to cut off the kitten's umbilical cord, tie the umbilical cord stump with sterilized thread and wipe it with iodophor. Remember not to cut the umbilical cord too short, as it may cause infection.

3. If the kitten has dystocia and cannot be born normally, you should contact the veterinarian and ask for medical help.

4. After the kitten is born, place it next to the mother cat and observe the status of the mother cat and the kittens. Don't let unfamiliar people disturb them, and create a quiet environment for the mother cat and kittens.

Cats generally give birth at night, so you need to prepare a cardboard box for them in advance as a nest. You can put an electric blanket and a disposable changing pad inside, and prepare food and water, as well as food supplements such as nutritional cans. Strengthen the kitten's physical strength to avoid birth difficulties due to lack of physical strength.

Symptoms of cats before giving birth:

1. Behavioral manifestations include: labor pain reaction, which manifests as nervousness, restlessness, shortness of breath, and even mouth breathing. Taking the initiative to make a nest, looking for a warm and soft place or entering a prepared nest and not coming out, and suddenly not eating, etc.

2. The physical condition includes: the abdomen is obviously wide and sagging, the breasts are swollen, the nipples have obvious areola, and milk is discharged when squeezed. The body temperature drops, about 1 degree lower than the cat's normal body temperature of 38 to 39 degrees, and mucous secretions flow out of the vulva.
