Cats snoring while sleeping may be caused by viral tracheitis. Cats will sneeze frequently and severely within 1-3 days after infection. Cats that snore while sleeping may also be suffering from chronic pararhinitis. The nasal cavity will become enlarged due to resistance to air pressure, and at the same time, the palate will vibrate, causing the cat to snore.

The reasons why cats snore very loudly while sleeping:

1. Born with a special facial structure: Some cats are born with a special facial structure and have a flat bun. On the face, due to the shortening of the nasal bones, the inside of the nasal cavity and the upper respiratory tract have a curved structure, which leads to difficulty breathing during sleep and the phenomenon of snoring.

2. Improper sleeping posture: When the cat’s body and neck are twisted at a large angle, the air will be blocked and not smooth when breathing, resulting in the sound of snoring.

3. Respiratory tract lesions: In addition to excluding natural phenomena and physiological reactions, if the cat still snores while sleeping, it is most likely because of respiratory tract lesions.

4. Excessive obesity: Obesity is a crucial reason for cats to snore. Excessive fat will wrap the physiological organs in the body, causing the cat’s pharyngeal wall to become thickened, the throat and trachea to narrow, and the soft palate to become softer. Hypertrophy and other conditions are not conducive to the healthy growth of cats.
