Between three months and seven months after a Ragdoll cat is born, you can choose to take the kitten directly to the pet hospital for sterilization. Of course, premature sterilization will cause abnormal bone development in cats. Generally speaking, Ragdoll cats reach sexual maturity at about eight months. If they can tolerate the trouble caused by estrus, it is recommended to extend the sterilization until after one year old. In addition, Ragdoll cats are large cats with a growth period of up to two years.

Benefits of sterilization surgery:

1. Reduce the probability of contracting diseases. Cats will go into estrus after they become sexually mature. Female cats go into estrus every three weeks on average, and each time lasts for a week. Male cats do not have an obvious estrus cycle, and male hormones are always at a high level during the estrus season. For female cats, continued estrus can lead to serious reproductive organ lesions, such as pyometra. Unneutered male cats are prone to urinary system diseases such as cystitis, and the probability of developing testicular cancer and prostate cancer in later years is also high.

2. Most cats after neutering become docile.

3. Get rid of the hormone problems during estrus. Male cats will no longer spray urine to vent, and female cats will no longer bark. All of these indirectly improve the owner's quality of life.

4. Neutering will reduce the number of stray cats, which is also a good thing for the entire society.
