In our country, with the improvement of people's living standards and the development of society, the number of various pet dogs has gradually increased. It is very common for middle-aged and elderly people to bring their pet dogs to "show" their tacit understanding, "show" intimacy, and "show" happiness. Many dog owners take their dogs to "show" stunts on TV, which is enviable. Many teenagers hope to have a pet dog of their own.

In fact, it is not easy to raise a pet dog well. It not only requires a certain amount of financial resources, but also a lot of energy and scientific methods. Among them, the living habits of the pet dog are the essential foundation.

1. Food habits

Dogs were carnivores in ancient times, mainly preying on small animals. Under the domestication and long-term influence of humans, pet dogs' feeding habits have changed greatly, and they have become omnivorous animals that mainly eat carnivores. Some pet dogs are even polyphagous. , all kinds of animal foods such as meat, eggs, animal bones and blood, offal, and processed products of various grain crops, various legumes, seeds, and various vegetables and fruits can be eaten.

However, when raising pet dogs, it is best to eat mainly meat. Their feed should contain more animal protein and fat, supplemented by vegetarian food. Otherwise, malnutrition will easily occur, and their normal growth, development and health will not be guaranteed. As the saying goes, "A dog can't change its habit of eating shit." Dogs not only eat human shit, but also dog shit. This is a bad habit of dogs and must be corrected.

2. Hierarchical habits

Dogs are gregarious by nature and have obvious hierarchical habits. They protect their companions and respect their leaders. There is always one dog in the pack who is the leader and leads the pack, dominates and governs the pack. The owner of the pet dog is usually regarded by the pet dog as the leader of the team. If a stranger (human or dog) is accepted by the team leader without hostility, the pet dog generally accepts the same. Keeping a pet dog must make it understand that it is the lowest member of the family team, otherwise it will not obey other members of the family team.

3. Territorial habits

Dogs have obvious territorial habits. They are used to marking their "sphere of influence" with urine or scent, and they often update it to indicate their "territory" to other animals and warn other animals not to invade. One dog's scent can tell another dog about the dog's territory, gender, age and health. A territory can belong to only one dog or a group of dogs. The way a dog marks its territory is to urinate a small amount at some fixed points along the way it usually walks. For example, when a male dog is walking outside, he often urinates on some tree trunks, street light poles, roadsides, or corners to mark his territory. Pet dogs will look very proud in their own territory. Male dogs are more territorial than female dogs.
