Causes of hair loss on cats’ eyes:

1. Scabies mites. Scabies mites parasitize on the epidermis and cause local hair loss. Symptoms of scabies mite infection first appear in areas with thin skin, such as the corners of the mouth, face, and ear tips. Observe whether there is spread.

2. Fungal infection. The symptoms of fungal infection in the early stage are similar to those of scabies mites. Local hair loss and scabies in the fungal infection are relatively regular and round in shape. They can be illuminated with a Wood's lamp. If there is a fluorescent reaction, it is fungus. However, the Wood's lamp can only detect part of the fungi. The most accurate way to detect skin diseases is scraping microscopy.

Solutions to cat hair loss:

1. If the hair follicles where cat eyes lose hair are not damaged, new hair will appear in half a month. During this period, the owner can feed the cat some food rich in lecithin to promote the good growth of the coat.

2. If a cat is infected with fungal skin diseases such as ringworm, the hair on the affected area will break and fall off. Cat fungus can be treated with antiseptic sprays or ointments.

3. When a cat is infected with external parasites, it will also cause hair loss. External mite parasites require the use of repellent drops, but be careful not to let the cat lick it, as it may cause poisoning.
