A female rabbit kept alone will also need to be neutered. Because unneutered female rabbits are prone to tumor diseases in old age, neutering at this time is very risky and less effective. It is recommended to sterilize female rabbits before and after they reach sexual maturity to avoid future diseases.

Usually the best time for neutering is around 4-6 months for small and medium-sized rabbits, and around 9 months for large rabbits.

Precautions for rabbit sterilization

1. The breeding environment is comfortable and quiet, and the rabbits are restricted from jumping violently.

2. Try not to catch rabbits.

3. Provide sufficient water and fresh food.

4. Test the rabbit’s appetite, water drinking and defecation volume.

5. Symptoms of rabbit pain: loss of appetite, unwillingness to exercise, depression, teeth grinding, screaming, etc.

6. Check the wound. Mild redness and swelling may be normal, but if it persists, you need to contact your veterinarian immediately.
