How to deworm pets
Pet deworming is generally divided into internal deworming and external deworming. To deworm the body, you need to choose a suitable drug and give it orally to your pet according to the time, usually in the form of granules or tablets. External deworming also requires the selection of drugs of appropriate specifications, usually in the form of drops. The owner needs to gently push aside the hair on the pet's back and neck, and then apply the drops on the pet's exposed skin. Note that when using external anthelmintics to deworm, pets need to wear Elizabethan rings to prevent pets from licking the external anthelmintic and causing poisoning.
1. Ways to deworm the body
When performing internal deworming, the deworming granules or tablets can be administered directly to the pet orally, or the oral medication can be mixed with snacks, wet food or nutritional paste for the pet to eat.
Some pets may experience side effects such as vomiting and diarrhea after taking internal anthelmintic drugs. It is recommended that pet owners closely observe the condition of their pets after taking the drug. If there are any abnormal reactions, you need to contact your pet doctor in time.
2. Methods of external deworming
When performing external deworming, you first need to remove the hair in the middle of the pet's neck and back, then drip the external deworming medicine on the pet's skin along the exposed skin, and then restore the hair after all the drops are finished.
It is recommended that pet owners observe their pets for half an hour after instilling anthelmintics to see if there is any drug allergy. If necessary, take your pet to the hospital for desensitization treatment in time. In addition, it is also necessary to note that it is best to leave at least 48 hours between the time of using external anthelmintics and the time of bathing.
Note: Internal deworming is generally targeted at parasites such as nematodes, roundworms, and tapeworms in the pet’s intestines. External deworming is the removal of fleas, lice, ticks and other parasites from pets.
