1. Unsuitable climate: The wood turtle is a tropical turtle. It has relatively high temperature requirements and cannot hibernate. Therefore, the temperature cannot be lower than 20°C all year round, and it is best to keep it above 26°C. There is also a certain humidity level. According to the requirements, it is not easy to grow in relatively dry places, so no one has ever raised it.

2. Big body and big appetite: The wood turtle is large enough to need enough space for activities when raised. It is suitable for fish pond breeding but not suitable for domestic breeding. The wood turtle has a large appetite and is not suitable for raising other turtle species. It’s easy, so there are very few people raising wood turtles.

3. Odor: Many people report that raising wood turtles requires a lot of excretion and a hard-to-dissipate excretion odor. Keeping them indoors can easily cause a terrible odor.
