In particular, it is best for female chinchillas to weigh more than 500 grams, thereby reducing the probability of dystocia in chinchillas. If it is difficult to give birth, the baby chinchilla will die, and the female chinchilla will also be in danger. Another thing is to avoid the breeding of inbred chinchillas and the breeding of two chinchillas with white genes (most of them are born with deformities or stillbirths).

The second step is to close the cage. Closing the cage of chinchillas is more troublesome. Before the chinchillas close the cage, they should first put each other's feces together so that the chinchillas can adapt to each other's smell and know each other's existence. Then close the cage step by step. After the cage is successfully closed, you need to take a notebook to record the female chinchilla's cage weight. It is best to record the weight every 2-3 days to facilitate future calculations of successful mating, date of delivery, etc.

Chinchilla mating does not require too much intervention from the owner, as long as they wait quietly for their mating to succeed.
