When a turtle hibernates, the first thing to do is to control the temperature. It usually starts hibernating when the temperature is lower than 10°C, and wakes up when the temperature reaches 15°C. Therefore, during hibernation, the temperature must be controlled to ensure that the temperature is not higher than 10°C, preferably around 5°C.

Then the water needs to be changed regularly, once a week. You don’t need to change all the water every time, just change half. It should be noted that the temperature of the new water must be the same as the old water. The water needs to be consistent. In addition, you need to replenish your nutrition before hibernating. In the next two weeks, you need to stop eating and soak in warm water.

4. Before the tortoise hibernates, we must provide it with a soft and comfortable bed so that it can have a good sleeping environment. Generally, we will use sand or soil to spread a shallow layer on the bottom of the nest, and then spread a layer of hay on top. We only need to put the turtle on it, and when the hibernation time is up, it will dig a hole and put itself in it. Buried in.

5. In winter, just put it indoors. If the temperature is too low, the turtle will freeze to death. It can be controlled at about 10 degrees Celsius. Do not leave the air conditioner on for a long time in the room, or place the turtle next to a heater to keep it warm to prevent the high temperature from waking the turtle up from hibernation.
