Koi standing upside down in the water is swim bladder disease. When the temperature drops in winter, some fish lie on their sides on the bottom of the pond and are in an inverted state. If you touch them with your hands, they will swing their tail fins a few times and swim. They can temporarily resume normal swimming, but they will soon lie on their sides on the bottom of the pond without dying. In severe cases, the fish lies on its side and most of the scales on one side fall off due to friction. Those with mild symptoms can survive the winter, and return to normal swimming once spring comes and the flowers bloom.

Treatment methods for swim bladder disease:

1. If the koi is found to be sick, the temperature of the breeding water can be slightly increased and sufficient bait should be added. Let the sick fish suffer from hunger and cold, so that the sick fish can recover as soon as possible.

2. Hanging something heavy on the caudal fin or caudal fin of the sick fish, or adding a buoy to the front edge of the dorsal fin, and raising it in shallow water can control the development of the disease.

3. Feed allicin, three yellow powder, compound berberine and other anti-inflammatory drugs to treat enteritis.

4. First aid measures: When the swim bladder disorder is severe, use 1 bag (500g) of Diosphenide (500g) and 1.5-2kg of table salt to dissolve the entire pond in 1 meter of water depth per acre of water surface.
