Cats can drink millet porridge, but it cannot be used as a staple food because millet porridge cannot meet the cat’s nutritional needs. Therefore, owners still need to feed cat food mainly with other foods as supplements. Millet porridge is relatively light and has the effects of reducing internal heat and being easy to digest. It is a relatively easy-to-digest food. It is suitable for cats to eat as a supplementary liquid food when they have gastrointestinal discomfort, gastroenteritis or just after surgery to reduce the burden on the gastrointestinal tract. But when making millet porridge, be careful not to add any spices and condiments. Just cook it directly with plain water. And the proportion of water should be larger. If it is too thick, it will stick to the teeth and easily form dental calculus.

Methods for cats to supplement nutrition:

1. Eggs. Eggs are rich in lecithin, which can make your cat’s hair more shiny. But cats can only eat cooked egg yolks, and they can only eat 2-3 at most a week.

2. Carrot. Carrots contain a large amount of carotene, vitamin A and minerals, which are beneficial to cats’ health. Carrots must be cooked before being eaten by cats, and no seasonings can be added, otherwise they will irritate the cat's stomach.

3. Banana. Bananas are rich in potassium and dietary fiber, which can promote gastrointestinal motility in cats. But it should be eaten in moderation, otherwise it will cause diarrhea and vomiting in cats.

4. Cheese. The calcium and protein in cheese can be easily absorbed by cats, which is beneficial to growth and development. And cheese is also rich in vitamins and lactic acid bacteria, but try to choose sugar-free goat cheese.

5. Chicken breast. Chicken breast is low in fat and high in protein, which can supplement nutrients for cats. You can usually buy some chicken breasts and cook them for your cat to eat, or you can buy some freeze-dried snacks made from chicken breasts, which is more convenient.
