How to tell the age of a picked up cat:

1. Observe the growth of the cat’s teeth to determine the cat’s age. Cats usually start to grow incisors when they are about fourteen days old. They will have twenty-six milky white, thin and sharp deciduous teeth when they are about two months old. They will start to grow their first incisors when they are three to four months old. At the age of six months, the second and third incisors and canines begin to be replaced. At six months, all deciduous teeth are replaced by permanent teeth. At eight months, almost all thirty permanent teeth have appeared.

2. The thickness of the cat’s fur. Older cats have thicker fur, while younger cats have thinner fur.

3. Look at the texture of the cat’s fur. Older cats' fur feels rougher, while younger cats' fur has a smoother texture.

4. Look at the size of the cat. Generally speaking, the size of adult cats is much larger than that of kittens. The age of a cat in months can be roughly judged by the size of the cat's body.

5. Look at the cat’s eyes. A cat's eyes will look cloudier as they age. You can roughly estimate the cat's age by observing the clarity of the cat's eyes.
