The grass snake does not recognize its owner. The snake can be said to be a brainless animal, and its brain capacity is limited to hunting. Moreover, snakes are cold-blooded animals and have no emotions. At the same time, snakes have poor eyesight and cannot see the external environment clearly, so they cannot recognize their owners. But if the owner often feeds the snake, it can sense the smell of the owner and will not pose a threat to the owner.

Notes on raising flower snakes

1. The material of the snake box can be wooden boards or bricks; other containers can also be used for breeding. Spread 5 cm thick moist sand in the snake box, and place a few rocks around it for the snake to hide and shed its skin. The snake box must have a movable transom and be covered with metal mesh to prevent snakes from escaping.

2. The breeding box is equipped with a water container. One is to provide drinking water, and the other is for the snake to take a bath. The water container should allow the snake to immerse its entire body in the water.

3. The food of grass snakes is mostly live food: white mice, golden gophers, frogs, toads, loaches or small fish. Young snakes can be fed small insects, earthworms or small frogs, or fresh chicken cut into small pieces.

4. For young snakes that cannot prey, artificial feeding is required if necessary. 1 to 2 times a week. When feeding snakes food, clean drinking water should be provided at the same time, because snakes generally like to drink water. When there is water but no food, they can withstand hunger for a longer time. If a snake is kept without food and water for a long time, the snake will be weak and prone to illness and death.
