The reasons why turtles don’t eat:

1. The temperature is too low. Turtles are cold-blooded animals, and if the water temperature is low, their appetite will be affected.

2. The feed is not good. Turtles are omnivores and need to be fed a combination of meat and plant food.

3. Caused by disease. Turtles affected by disease will have a poor appetite. Common diseases include eye disease, nail rot, pneumonia, etc.

4. Not adaptable to the environment. A newly purchased turtle will not adapt to the environment and will be reluctant to eat, which will last for about 3-7 days.

How to raise turtles:

1. Food. Fish meat is the favorite food of turtles, and there are also special turtle feeds on the market. Turtles are very resistant to hunger and are relatively easy to raise.

2. Container. The best container for raising turtles is an aquarium glass box with a width of 30 to 55 cm. Young turtles can be raised in a flat-bottomed container, a plastic basin, a glass tank or a small aquarium, which are all suitable.

3. Water volume. The amount of water should generally ensure that the turtle shell can be submerged and the head can be exposed in shallow water. The depth should allow it to swim optimally. Also remember to change the water regularly to prevent the growth of germs.

4. Lighting. Turtles need regular light to supplement calcium to promote their growth and development.
