How long does it take to feed a cockatiel after hatching?

Cockatiels can only be fed after they have defecated after hatching. The intestinal tract of a newly hatched cockatiel is not well developed and its functions are not yet complete, and it is not hungry. Make sure that it defecates before feeding it. Cockatiels that have just hatched need to be fed 5 to 6 times a day, on average once every 3 hours, and twice at night. Do not feed too much each time.

Precautions for feeding newly hatched cockatiels:

1. When feeding chicks, generally use a syringe and hose with the needle removed, and Soak special parrot milk powder, cool it to about 40°C, and then squeeze it into the mouth of the chick with an injection.

2. Do not feed hard food to newly hatched cockatiels, as this can easily scratch its gastrointestinal tract, causing indigestion or even bleeding.

3. The newly hatched Xuanfeng still needs to be breastfed at first, but don’t feed it for too long. Generally, one week is enough, and you can train it to wean after one week.
