A male and a female hamster cannot be kept together. Hamsters are solitary creatures and are suitable for living alone. Hamsters are very territorial and prohibit other hamsters from entering their territory. Even a male and a female may cause casualties. Male and female hamsters can only be caged together briefly during the breeding days. If you don’t want the hamsters at home to breed two or three generations of hamsters within a few months, it is recommended not to close the cages.

The reasons why one male and one female hamster cannot be kept together:

1. Hamsters are solitary animals and do not want other hamsters to accompany them.

2. The breeding ability of hamsters is amazing. They can basically give birth to a litter of five or six animals in a month.

3. Hamsters will inevitably fight and get bitten. If not treated in time, infection will occur and the hamster will die.

4. After female rats become pregnant, they will also beat male rats and even eat them.
