What are the symptoms of a Husky in estrus? In the early stage of estrus, the Husky's vulva gradually becomes congested and swollen, and the frequency of urination increases but the amount is small, and the urine attracts male dogs to sniff. During the estrus period, the vulva of a female dog is congested and swollen. As time goes by, the degree of congestion and swelling gradually increases. Strengthen; after the estrus period, the dripping of bloody mucus from the vagina further decreases, the color changes from light red to dark red or colorless, and the swelling subsides.

1. Pre-estrus: It takes about 8 days from the time when the vagina drips mucus with blood to when it accepts the male dog climbing on it. During this period, the vagina gradually becomes congested and swollen, the frequency of urination increases but the amount is small, and the urine attracts male dogs to sniff it. The female dog is excited and restless, and likes to get close to the male dog and play with him, but has no sexual desire (does not accept the male dog climbing on her). During vaginal smear examination, there are mainly nucleated epithelial cells and a large number of red blood cells and a small amount of neutrophils.

2. Estrus period: from the time when a male dog climbs on you to the time when a male dog does not climb on you, that is, the 8-18 days when blood starts to drip from the vulva. The female dog's vulva is congested and swollen. As time goes by, the degree of congestion and swelling gradually increases, reaching its peak in estrus. From the external manifestations, the vagina is swollen in the early stage, which will eventually subside. The dripping of bloody mucus will decrease, and the color will change from bright red to light red. The smell excreted by the female dog will obviously attract the male dog to chase and climb. When the male dog licks When its vulva or crawling across its body, its limbs stand still, its tail is raised and tilted to one side, its vulva is repeatedly lifted up, indicating sexual desire, and it is easy to become aggressive during mating. During vaginal smear examination, it is mainly keratinized epithelial cells, lacking neutrophils, and red blood cells are more in the early stage and reduced in the late stage.

3. Late estrus: After the estrus period, it enters the late estrus, which lasts about 10 days. The female dog gradually transitions from the sexually excited state of estrus to a quiet state. The external manifestations are that the dripping of bloody mucus from the vagina further decreases, the color changes from light red to dark red or colorless, the swelling subsides, and most dogs refuse to climb. On vaginal smear examination, nucleated epithelial cells and neutrophils reappeared, and red blood cells and keratinocytes were absent.

4. The anestrus period: refers to the period between the late stage of estrus and the early stage of next estrus, about 6 months. At this time, the female dog's sexual desire has completely stopped and her mental state has completely returned to normal. The external manifestations include dry vulva, no bloody mucus dripping out, reluctance to approach the male dog, not allowing the male dog to climb on it, and the male dog is not interested in its urine and body odor. During vaginal smear examination, there are mainly nucleated epithelial cells and a small number of neutrophils, and there is a lack of red blood cells.
