Treatment methods for dog dermatitis:

1. Desensitization and anti-itching: oral or intramuscular injection of corticosteroids, prednisone 1 mg/kg body weight, dexamethasone 0.15-0.25 mg/kg body weight.

2. Apply sulfonamide ointment locally.

3. Chronic dermatitis can be applied with triamcinolone acetate ointment or hydrogen acetate ointment.

4. Fungal dermatitis can be applied with clotrimazole ointment, ringworm ointment or daxonine ointment.

5. For skin parasitic dermatitis, refer to the treatment of Demodex.

6. For dermatitis with bacterial infection, systemic antibiotic therapy can be applied, and penicillin or gentamicin can be injected intramuscularly, twice a day.

Symptoms of dog dermatitis:

1. The dog’s skin appears red and swollen in flakes, strips or irregular shapes, and may be covered with swollen skin when there is exudation. When the skin is damaged, erosion or ulcers may appear, and there may be local pain and itching.

2. When the skin is covered with a large amount of inflammatory exudates and suffers from chronic dermatitis, the skin coat may be shed. The skin peptide is thickened and cracked.

3. When suffering from fungal dermatitis, the affected area will be hairless, with white powdery scabs locally, and red protrusions under and around the scabs.

4. When suffering from parasitic dermatitis, red rash-like nodules can be seen on the head, back, and abdomen, with yellow scabs on the surface, hair loss, and severe itching.
