Time to vaccinate puppies

Like people, vaccination is an effective way for dogs to prevent major diseases.
Take Intervet as an example. It requires three vaccinations, 15 days apart each time; plus one injection of rabies vaccine, the complete cycle is 45 days. The first vaccination is generally carried out when the dog is about 45 days old. The method of first vaccination of dogs at 28 days has been gradually replaced.

The immunity of puppies after birth mainly comes from maternal antibodies. In the past, the reason why vaccination was chosen within 28 days was mainly to prevent the death of dogs from diseases such as parvovirus.

But in fact, some puppies become ill before 45 days old because the maternal antibodies in their bodies are very low.

Now, regular breeding kennels will strengthen the immunization of the female dog when she is pregnant to increase the level of maternal antibodies, so that the puppies will have better immunity than before when they are born, so the first vaccination is The time changed from 28 days to 45 days.

In addition, most of the vaccines given to dogs now are not inactivated vaccines, but attenuated vaccines. When dogs are vaccinated when their resistance is weak, the vaccine will turn into a pathogenic factor and make the dog sick. The resistance of 28-day-old puppies is definitely weaker than that of 45-day-old puppies. Obviously, it is better to vaccinate the 45-day-old dogs.

So, the dog must be at least three months old after being fully vaccinated for the first time!
Note: Dogs can only produce a certain amount of antibodies 7 days after being vaccinated. Therefore, the dog’s resistance is weak within a week of vaccination. It is not recommended to bathe the dog. In addition, after dogs are fully vaccinated for the first time, they must be injected with spring vaccination every spring.

Deworming

If you have good household hygiene, you should also deworm your dog. When the dog is breastfeeding, the infectious eggs on the nipples of the mother dog are also brought into the body of the puppy to parasitize, and the dog likes to smell it. There are also parasites such as mites, fleas, and ticks on the body surface (inside) and body hair. Therefore, puppies should be regularly dewormed internally and externally.

Do not feed the dog on the day after taking the internal anthelmintic medicine. Some dogs with weak stomachs will also vomit, so special attention is needed; the dog's feces should be cleaned up in time to prevent secondary infection.

Some pet hospitals will ask you to deworm your body every half a month, but in fact, after the first two internal dewormings, the deworming is basically done. After that, my suggestion is to do external deworming once a month. Do internal deworming once every quarter (depending on your dog's condition), there is no need to do it too frequently.

In addition, some pet hospitals will recommend you some anthelmintic drugs that are labeled "can be taken by dogs during vaccination." However, I still do not recommend giving internal anthelmintic drugs to dogs during vaccination.

There are two main types of external deworming: medicated baths and external deworming drops. The latter is simple and convenient, while the former has a wider range of effects and has better effects such as killing mites. Usage and cycle vary depending on the medicine; medicinal bath should be taken once a month or once a quarter as appropriate.

1. Prevent your dog from eating salty things. Salt is difficult to metabolize, and eating too much will cause more hair loss; 2. You must pay attention to the amount of animal offal. Don't eat too much; 3. Cut it short in moderation; 4. Use some imported pet shampoos, some brands of pet shampoos from the United States and Germany will make the hair softer; 5.
