Symptoms of parasite infection in dogs

Most puppies have intestinal parasites, which are infected by their mothers through the placenta or milk. Due to the thin intestinal cavity of puppies, the relatively large number of parasites and their large size can cause loss of appetite, weight loss, growth retardation, constipation or diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, and increased abdominal girth. Some puppies may develop small intestinal intussusception or anal prolapse.
Severe infections can lead to severe complications and death.
Parasite infections in adult dogs are generally invisible, so even if no parasites are found in the feces, deworming should be carried out on time.
Tapeworms are band-shaped and often appear in dog feces or crawling near the anus. When exposed to air, they shrink and dry up, and eggs that look like rice grains can be found in the feces and around the puppy's anus. You may also find that your puppy vomits roundworms that are 4 to 10 centimeters long. By the time you see these parasites, your dog’s illness is already serious.

Instructions for using deworming medicine

Using deworming medicine can kill internal parasites. Since the growth of parasites has a certain cycle, the medication time should also be coordinated with this cycle. Therefore, it is recommended that you go to a reliable pet hospital to obtain the corresponding drugs and instructions on how to take them. During the deworming period, raw meat and uncooked vegetables should not be fed. Only starchy foods such as white rice, noodles, and oatmeal should be fed. Do not change it within 1 week after deworming.
Do not use anthelmintic drugs when the dog has constipation. You should take a laxative first, and then take an anthelmintic drug after excretion. It is also not advisable to use anthelmintic drugs when the dog is sick or weak.
