A dog’s nose is dry and cracked like scales

A dog’s normal nose should be slightly moist. This is because dogs often lick their nose with their tongues to keep their noses sensitive. If your dog's nose suddenly becomes very dry or even cracked, it means there is something wrong with your dog's body.
1. Dogs rarely lick their noses because they have a fever and are in low spirits. Coupled with the increase in body temperature, it is very easy to cause dry and cracked noses. Owners can use a rectal thermometer to measure the dog's rectal temperature. If the temperature exceeds 39.5 degrees, it means the dog has a fever.
2. Dogs suffer from canine distemper. The main symptoms are fine cracks on both sides of the nostrils and watery secretions flowing out. The owner can make a judgment by observing whether the dog is coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, etc., or can use canine distemper test strips for detection.
3. If the dog’s nose is not black but turns pink and dry, the owner needs to give the dog some blueberry essence to help the dog precipitate the pigment on the nose and restore the normal black nose.
