Percussion of the abdominal cavity revealed an enlarged dullness area with shifting dullness, and auscultation revealed weakened bowel sounds. After splenic rupture, the abdomen becomes sensitive to palpation, and the diagnosis can be confirmed through X-ray examination.
Once a dog is diagnosed with splenic rupture, blood transfusion, hemostasis, and fluid infusion must be carried out promptly to prevent hemorrhagic shock. With timely first aid, surgery, and removal of the spleen, the dog may still survive. After a dog's spleen is removed, the dog's resistance will decrease, but overall it will not have much impact.
