Treatment of parvovirus symptoms in dogs

Use antiviral drugs, such as parvovirus inhibitory protein, interferon, etc. Because during parvovirus infection, the dog's white blood cells will decrease, which will cause the dog to develop secondary lung infection. Therefore, antibiotics need to be used for treatment. If vomiting occurs repeatedly or bleeding occurs, infusion treatment is required. The general course of the disease is five to seven days and requires consistent treatment.

Dogs infected with parvovirus are clinically characterized by acute hemorrhagic enteritis and non-suppurative myocarditis. The incubation period of the enteritis type is seven to fourteen days, with vomiting, anorexia, fever, depression, and diarrhea occurring at the beginning of the disease. The diarrhea is gray or yellow, followed by tomato-like bloody stools. Myocarditis type: It is more common in young dogs under one month old. There are no characteristic symptoms at the beginning of the disease, only mild diarrhea, weakness, difficulty breathing, and death within a short period of time. The most effective way to prevent parvovirus is to vaccinate your dog.
