How to train your dog to shake hands
Dog handshake training steps:
First, let the dog sit facing the owner. The owner then grabbed a snack in one hand and spread it out on the floor with the other hand.
When the dog sits down, the owner says "shake hands" to the dog, and then taps one of its front feet with his hand. If the dog's front foot naturally lifts, you should take the opportunity to hold the dog's front foot. Don’t forget to reward your dog with snacks at this time.
What to do if the dog doesn’t respond? Be flexible and move your fingers to attract the dog’s attention. Once your dog reaches out and touches your hand, reward him with a treat.
Lift your hands slightly off the ground and repeat the training process. As soon as the dog completes the handshake, feed it a treat.
Gradually raise the handle until you reach a satisfactory height.
Note:
Handshake training is very simple. Generally, smarter dogs can master it in a few minutes. If your dog still can't learn it, you might as well stop and take a rest. Each practice should not take too long.
