Induce vomiting

Dog poisoning should still be treated with scientific methods. It is not recommended for owners to use unsophisticated methods. Improper use may accelerate the death of the dog. For dogs that have eaten poison in a short period of time, the owner can give the dog an emetic medicine to eliminate the poison that entered the stomach as soon as possible. However, if the poison enters the dog's body for more than 4 hours, it may have entered the intestines. It is not appropriate to induce vomiting at this time, and it is best to seek medical treatment.

Gastric lavage

When vomiting measures are ineffective or the dog cannot take vomiting medicine, the owner can use gastric lavage to rescue the dog and relieve the symptoms of poisoning. For gastric lavage in dogs with poisoning, warm water, warm salt water, warm soapy water, strong tea and 1% soda solution are commonly used, and the amount of liquid is 5 to 10 ml per kilogram of dog weight. However, gastric lavage is too professional, so it is recommended that dogs seek medical treatment as soon as possible after being poisoned.

Adsorption

Before inducing vomiting or gastric lavage, dogs take adsorbents such as activated carbon, which can promote the adsorption of poisons on the carbon surface, effectively prevent the poisons from being absorbed by the dog's body, and relieve the symptoms of poisoning in dogs. However, it should be noted that the activated carbon here must be plant-based, and mineral and animal-based activated carbon must not be used. Thirty minutes after taking activated charcoal, the owner should feed the dog a laxative to promote the elimination of poisons from the gastrointestinal tract and shorten the poisoning time.
