When a cat is found to have diarrhea but no other symptoms, it is usually observed for 12 to 24 hours to see if the situation gradually improves. During this period, feeding will be temporarily stopped and clean drinking water will be provided. Wait until the cat stops having diarrhea and then resume eating, along with probiotics to help the cat digest better. If your cat's diarrhea does not improve, or if the condition becomes more serious, it is recommended to take your cat to a pet hospital for examination.

There are many causes of cat diarrhea, including the following:

Parasite

When a cat is infected with parasites, it will not only have diarrhea, but also smell very smelly, and there will be insect eggs in the feces. The cat will also be very thin, unable to eat, and sometimes feel abdominal pain.

Eating the wrong thing

If a cat eats spoiled food, or eats a lot of things it shouldn't eat by mistake, such as human food, domestic plants, etc., many of them are poisonous to cats, and cats can easily have diarrhea if they eat the wrong things.

Feline infectious diseases

Cats suffering from feline distemper, cat-borne abdominal disease, nephritis, etc. will all be accompanied by diarrhea. There are also symptoms such as fever, vomiting, and poor mental health.

Sensitive gastrointestinal

The period before 6 months is a critical period for cats to maintain a good gastrointestinal condition. If a kitten’s gastrointestinal system is particularly weak since childhood and does not receive careful care in the later period, the cat will easily have diarrhea and its gastrointestinal system will be particularly sensitive.

Replace food too quickly

Cats’ gastrointestinal tract has not adapted to the new food, and it can easily lead to diarrhea.

Cold and cold

As the seasons change and the temperature changes greatly, cats can easily catch colds and have mild diarrhea. After discovering that a kitten has diarrhea, it is best to record the frequency of the kitten's diarrhea and take photos of the diarrhea to facilitate veterinary diagnosis.
