Cats can eat salt, but they don’t need to eat too much salt. Normal cat food contains salt, which can meet the cat’s salt needs. There is no need to add additional salt to the cat. Compared with humans, cats’ daily requirements are relatively small, about 1/3 of humans.

Cats do not have sweat glands. Excessive salt intake cannot be excreted through sweat, which will increase the burden on the kidneys and lead to renal failure, making the cat prone to hair loss. In serious cases, it may even die. Therefore, it is recommended that owners try to eat a light diet when feeding their cats.
