Gekko tails cannot be eaten by cats. Although gecko tails themselves are not toxic, gecko tails may contain pathogenic bacteria or parasites, and cats may be infected with diseases if they accidentally eat them. Therefore, after the cat eats the gecko tail, it is recommended to use 1% hydrogen peroxide or soapy water to induce vomiting in time. If the cat cannot vomit, it is recommended to give drugs containing astragalus polysaccharide to improve immunity and give internal anthelmintic drugs.

What to do if a cat eats a gecko:

1. If the cat’s gastrointestinal tract is relatively fragile, it may cause vomiting, diarrhea and other symptoms if it accidentally eats a gecko. It is recommended to seek medical advice immediately. The hospital induces vomiting or performs gastric lavage treatment.

2. However, if a cat eats a dead gecko, it may cause a poisoning reaction, which may lead to death in severe cases, because the gecko may die from rat poison. When raising cats, do not let cats eat dead items.
