The lack of estrus in female cats may be due to not yet reaching the age of estrus, or it may be a congenital defect, or the cat is too obese due to lack of exercise, resulting in a severe decrease in hormones in the body, so it is not in estrus. In addition, if the female cat was picked up or given by others, it is possible that the previous owner had sterilized the cat. The cat will no longer secrete sex hormones, so it will not show symptoms of estrus.

1. Not yet in estrus

Usually, female cats will start to go into estrus when they are 7-8 months old. If the female cat is still young and has not yet matured, she will naturally not be in heat, so the owner can observe her at home for a while.

2. Congenital defects

If the female cat has reached the age of estrus but has not been in estrus, then it should be considered that the female cat has underdeveloped ovaries and will not be in estrus. Cats with such developmental abnormalities must be neutered as soon as possible to avoid pathological changes.

3. Lack of exercise

If the cat usually has a single diet, eats too much protein, fat and carbohydrate water for a long time, coupled with a lack of exercise, the cat will be too obese. If the hormones in the body are severely reduced, the cat will show no estrus. Therefore, owners must pay attention to a balanced diet. In addition to feeding cats cat food, they can also feed some chicken breasts, cooked egg yolks and other foods to help cats maintain sex hormone balance.

4. Have undergone sterilization surgery

If the female cat was not raised from an early age but was a stray cat picked up, then it is possible that she was sterilized by the previous owner. This is normal. If you are unsure, you can take your cat to the pet hospital for a checkup.
