Horned frogs can bite. Because horned frogs have low IQ, even their owners are prone to being bitten. Generally, there are two situations when horned frogs bite people. First, someone put their hand in front of a horned frog and it was mistaken for food. Second, the horned frog feels threatened and bites out of defensive instinct. The bite ability of juvenile horned frogs is relatively weak, but when they become adults, their bite force is strong enough to easily cause bleeding.

How to raise horned frogs:

1. Raising environment: Spread a layer of coconut soil or soaked sponge evenly on the bottom of the breeding box, and lay out a large Basin, placed at an angle, with an inch of water on the lower side. The water level cannot be too deep or too shallow. Horned frogs are not very good at water. They spend most of their time on land, so the water level only needs to be above their backs to prevent them from drowning if they are too deep.

2. Feeding: The horned frog has a wide range of food habits. It will bite almost anything in front of it and then try to swallow it. However, it is forbidden to feed food such as mealworms and barley worms to prevent enteritis. Young frogs are fed every 3-4 days, and adult frogs are fed every 7 days or so. The food fed each time is about two-thirds of the body length of the horned frog. The food mainly includes insects, earthworms, Goldfish, suckling rats and frogs, etc.

3. Management: The temperature is controlled at 26-29°C, and the humidity is controlled above 85%. The water should be replaced every 2 days, and the coconut soil should be replaced every 30 days (according to the specific sanitary conditions, it can be replaced in advance ).
