Symptoms of cat jaundice:

1. When a cat has mild jaundice, it is generally difficult for pet owners to detect it. Cats may have symptoms such as not eating, yellow urine, and listlessness.

2. When a cat is moderately jaundiced, the skin will begin to turn yellow. Cats will also be accompanied by symptoms such as not eating, lack of energy, and unwillingness to move.

3. When a cat is severely jaundiced, the color of the mucous membranes all over the body will turn yellow, and even the color of the pupils will change. Cats may also experience vomiting, diarrhea, and unconsciousness.

Treatment of cat jaundice:

1. The cause of jaundice is the increase in bilirubin caused by liver disease, so cats need to be given some liver-protective and gallbladder-protective drugs. Medications treat the liver.

2. Determine whether there is inflammation in the cat’s body. If so, the cat needs to be fed some anti-inflammatory drugs.

3. If a cat has jaundice, it may lose its appetite. At this time, infusion is needed to adjust the electrolyte balance in the cat's body and replenish energy. At the same time, after cats lose their appetite, they need to install a nasogastric tube for a small amount of feeding. Generally, it takes about 5-7 days of treatment before the cat’s symptoms will be relieved. When the cat has the desire to eat food, the owner can feed the cat some high-energy nutrients that nourish the blood and liver.
