There are two ways to treat patellar luxation in dogs: conservative treatment and surgical treatment. Conservative treatment is about helping the dog reach and maintain a healthy weight. For dogs, reaching an ideal weight requires gaining muscle and losing fat, thereby reducing joint stress. Limit the dog’s movement, prohibit jumping up and down, and use joint nutrition products. When the dog is severe, surgical correction is required.

Symptoms of patella luxation in dogs:

1. There will be some mentioning when walking, especially the dislocated foot will feel pain and will not be willing to follow directly. There is contact with the ground.

2. If patellar dislocation is not treated properly in time, the situation will gradually worsen, and the muscles of the affected limb will also gradually atrophy. It can be clearly seen that the size of the two hind limbs is inconsistent.
