Human toothpaste cannot be used on dogs. Human toothpaste is specially designed for use by humans. It contains some chemicals that are not harmful to humans, but are not good for dogs. When people brush their teeth with toothpaste, they will produce rich foam. Humans will spit out the foam, and dogs like to swallow these foams, resulting in ingesting some ingredients that are harmful to the dog's body. Some toothpastes contain xylitol. Once your dog ingests xylitol, it will cause a sharp increase in insulin secretion.

Notes on brushing your dog’s teeth:

1. Prepare dog-specific toothbrushing supplies. Buy dog-specific toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss, etc. Never use human toothpaste and toothbrushes on dogs.

2. Persistence since childhood. It is best to brush your dog’s teeth 2 to 3 times a week starting from 6 months of age. If you insist on it for a long time, you will get the ideal nursing effect.

3. Auxiliary cleaning. Giving your dog bones and chewing gum regularly can clean his teeth, and use a shower to wash his mouth when bathing.

4. Flexible approach. If your dog refuses to have his teeth brushed in any way, you can wipe his teeth with a soft towel or sterile gauze pad. At the same time, it is advisable to add some rough or crispy food to the dog's food, which can rub the tooth surface during chewing and help clean the mouth.
