Methods to determine if your dog has parvovirus:

1. The symptoms are obvious. Dogs infected with parvovirus will suffer from depression, decreased appetite, lethargy, persistent vomiting and diarrhea. In severe cases, symptoms such as dehydration, blood in the stool, and shock may occur.

2. Feces smell bad. After a dog is infected with parvovirus, it will only have mild diarrhea in the early stage and the body temperature will usually be high. In the middle and late stages, the situation will become serious and the feces will have a foul smell.

3. Test paper detection. It can be determined by testing with parvovirus test strips. If the test result is positive, it indicates infection with parvovirus.

Causes of dogs getting parvovirus:

1. Contact with sick dogs. If a dog is not vaccinated and comes into contact with the excrement or vomit of a virus-carrying dog or other animals, the body will be unable to resist the invasion of parvovirus.

2. Stress triggering. When the environment changes and is stimulated, stress may occur. In this state, it is easy to become infected with the virus.

3. No deworming. Dogs that are not dewormed are susceptible to parasites, which can lead to a decrease in their body's resistance and make them susceptible to various viruses, including parvovirus.

4. Eat leftovers. Leftovers are prone to spoilage and are likely to carry many germs, which can easily lead to parvovirus in dogs after eating them.

5. Catch a cold. Dogs or puppies with poor immunity are prone to gastrointestinal discomfort and diarrhea after catching cold, which may induce enteritis and parvovirus in dogs.
