Kittens will use cat litter for about a month. When they are very young, cats do not excrete on their own. The mother cat personally helps the kitten lick the excretion port to stimulate the kitten to defecate. When the kitten is about one month old, it can excrete on its own. At this time, the mother cat will teach the kitten how to use cat litter. If the mother cat is not around, the owner needs to teach it in person.

How to teach cats to use cat litter:

1. Place the cat litter box in a fixed position, do not move it easily, and be careful not to stray away from the area where the cat lives. Too far away, and don’t be next to the place where the cat eats.

2. You can put the cat’s excrement into the litter box, so that when the cat wants to excrete again, it will look for the smell and find a place to excrete.

3. Look for the cat’s excretion pattern. When you see the cat wants to urinate, you can hold the cat into the litter box and wait until it has finished excreting before letting it out.

4. After the cat has excreted, you can hold the cat’s front paws and dig through the cat litter to bury the excrement.

5. After completing this series of actions, remember to reward the cat with snacks to let it know that it is the right thing to do. If you persist like this for a while, it will learn to use cat litter.
